Safiya Banu Kaja is a passionate STEM educator with extensive experience in robotics, mathematics, coding, and computer science. With a strong academic background in computer science and data science, she has built a career around inspiring students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and develop confidence in technology-driven environments. Her teaching philosophy focuses on blending engineering, coding, and mathematics into engaging, hands-on lessons that prepare students for future academic and career success.
Currently serving as a Robotics Teacher and STEM Educator at Al Forsan International School in Riyadh, Safiya has successfully designed and implemented robotics and STEM curricula using platforms such as LEGO, Arduino, Microbit, and VEX. She has mentored students for national and international competitions, guiding them to achieve notable success, including recognition in competitions such as Codeavour 6.0. Through project-based learning, she encourages students to strengthen their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while exploring real-world applications of technology.
Prior to this role, Safiya worked at the International Indian School Riyadh and Jawahir International School, where she taught mathematics, coding, and computer science across middle and high school levels. She developed and delivered engaging lessons aligned with NCERT and IGCSE standards, using tools such as Python, Scratch, Java, Arduino IDE, and Tinkercad. Her ability to connect theoretical concepts with practical projects helped students develop strong analytical thinking and computational skills.
Safiya also brings valuable experience from her early years in education, where she worked with younger learners in kindergarten and primary school settings. Her nurturing approach helped build strong foundations in mathematics and computer science while encouraging curiosity and confidence. Alongside her classroom work, she continuously pursues professional development through certifications in areas such as Vedic Mathematics, Microsoft 365, Azure AI, RPA, and public speaking. Her dedication to innovation, lifelong learning, and student growth has made her a highly effective and inspiring educator.
